Born
in Reims on the 20th of April 1967, Philippe DEVAUX began studying the piano
at three and a half years' old. At the age of nine, he was admitted to the National
Conservatory of Reims in the class of Maitre Jean-Claude ENGLEBERT and obtained
a First Prize for Piano at the age of seventeen. At the same time, he also began
studying business and economics.
In October 1991, he became a Prize-winner of the CZIFFRA Foundation and worked, from 1992 to 1993, with Georges CZIFFRA. From October 1992 to March 1999, he worked under the guidance of the pianist and composer Milosz MAGIN. In April 1995, he won the International Milosz Magin Piano Competition and obtained the First Grand Prix.
Since that date, he has performed regularly as a soloist :
His repertoire ranges from Scarlatti to Magin with a tendency for the romantic period and Chopin. He is a born improviser.
